Under Trump, LGBT students fear for their futures
- Trump announced Feb. 22 that his administration would soon reverse transgender bathroom policies put in place by President Obama in 2016 that require public schools to let transgender students use restrooms and locker rooms “consistent with their gender identity.”
Thirteen states opposed the action, which led to a nationwide halt on the mandate. And according to White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer, Trump thinks this issue should be handled on by states, not by the federal government, USA TODAY reports.
